Generic Car Insurance Crash Parts
Car insurance crash parts, also referred to as cosmetic parts, are the sheet metal components of vehicles; the outside “skin” most frequently damaged in auto accidents, such as fenders, hoods and doors panels. There are two sources for car insurance parts: auto manufacturers, who sell them under their own names, also known as original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and generic or aftermarket crash parts suppliers.

Car Insurance and Car Crashes
KEY STATISTICS - Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for people of every age between three and 34 except for seven-year olds (based on 2005 data). A motor vehicle death occurs on average every 13 minutes and an injury every 13 seconds. About 112 people died each day in motor vehicle crashes in 2007. Since the first documented crash death in 1899, more than 30 million people worldwide have died in traffic crashes.
Drunk Driving and Car Insurance
A study released in August 2010 by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that over the past year, one out of five drivers age 16 and over in the United States had driven a motor vehicle within two hours of drinking alcohol. About two-thirds of those drivers had done so in the past 30 days. The results of this study were used to estimate that 17.2 million drivers, or 8.2 percent of all drivers, had driven one or more times in the past year when they thought they were over the legal limit
Car Insurance and Older Drivers
Older drivers have higher rates of fatal crashes, based on miles driven, than any other group except young drivers, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The high death rate is due in large part to their frailty. Older people are less likely to survive an injury than younger people. By 2030 people age 65 and older are expected to represent 25 percent of the driving population and 25 percent of fatal crash involvements.
